Job description

Role Summary
As an Incoming Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming SMT components, semiconductor devices, and wire harnesses meet the company’s stringent quality standards. You will act as the first line of defense against defects, bridging the gap between design specifications and supplier delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Incoming Inspection & Qualification: Perform rigorous inspection of SMT components (Resistors, Capacitors, ICs, etc.), Semiconductor devices, and Wire Harnesses/Cables.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, datasheets, and circuit diagrams to establish precise inspection criteria. • Checklist Development: Derive critical-to-quality (CTQ) check points and develop detailed inspection reports and SOPs for the IQC team.
  • Supplier Quality Management: Direct interaction with suppliers regarding quality deviations, material rejections, and process improvements.
  • Problem Solving: Lead the 8D closure process for any incoming material failures, ensuring root cause analysis (RCA) is accurate and CAPA is implemented.
  • Standard Compliance: Ensure all components meet IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A610 for assemblies or IPC/WHMA-A-620 for cables). Technical Skills Required
  • Component Expertise: Deep understanding of SMT packages, semiconductor polarity, and wire harness crimping/soldering standards.
  • Tools & Equipment: Proficiency in using LCR meters, Multimeters, Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, and Profile Projectors.
  • Quality Tools: Hands-on experience with 7 QC tools, 8D methodology, PFD, and FMEA.
  • Documentation: Strong ability to generate professional Inspection Reports (IR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR)
