Job description

  • Machinist with knowledge to operate conventional lathe machine, vertical lathe machine, milling machine, line boring machine, pipe facing machine, etc. and minimum 5 years of UAE experience in manufacturing industry. 
  • Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations
  • Capable of reading technical drawings and make sketch for spares for fabrication
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
  • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
  • Able to communicate well in English with coworkers and supervisors and refer manuals

Responsibilities:
  • Carry out all repair/maintenance works allocated by the superiors in lathes and other machining equipment.
  • Ensure timely completion of jobs as assigned by the Workshop Superiors
  • Write reports with support drawings for job execution 
  • Communicate constructively and effectively with all levels within and outside the organization orally and in writing. Actively listen and be persuasive in reasoning.
  • Be able to identify and mitigate risks within the works in machining Workshop

Qualifications:
  • High Technical School Certificate or an equivalent professional qualification or an equivalent professional experience specially in conventional Lathe machine
  • Diploma in any CNC programming setup and operations is preferred
  • Marine related manufacturing field experience preferred
