We are looking for a kind and experienced maths tutor to support an 8-year-old student in regular lessons from Monday to Friday.
The ideal tutor has experience working with children of a similar age and feels comfortable teaching in English.
Lessons should be engaging, interactive, and tailored to the child’s individual learning style.
We value a warm, supportive, and structured approach to teaching.
The tutor should be creative and playful, while also providing consistency and gentle guidance that helps the child feel confident and motivated.
It is important that the tutor shares our appreciation for curiosity-driven learning and can thoughtfully guide the student from basic arithmetic toward more advanced elementary math over time.
Familiarity with age-appropriate curricula and the ability to clearly communicate learning goals and progression would be a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct daily maths lessons in fluent English, tailored to the child’s learning style and developmental level.
Design and implement a clear, long-term learning roadmap—guiding the student from foundational arithmetic through advanced elementary mathematics.
Create engaging, playful, and conceptually rich lessons that foster intrinsic interest in math.
Balance warmth and flexibility with structure and clear boundaries that promote a productive learning environment.
Monitor academic progress and communicate it regularly in a way that reflects both qualitative growth and measurable mastery.
Assign meaningful, interest-driven homework that reinforces learning without relying on pressure or external rewards.
Requirements: Daily availability at the specified time.
Proven experience teaching math to children aged ~8.
Ability to design a clear, motivating learning journey through foundational and intermediate math.
Strong presence: kind, flexible, but able to set and hold structure.
Deep alignment with learner-centered, intrinsic motivation-based pedagogy.
Skilled at feedback, progress tracking, and coordination with the education team.
Qualifications: Degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field (preferred).
Training or certification in child development, pedagogy, or elementary math education (preferred).
Fluent English speaker with strong communication and teaching skills.
Familiarity with international math curricula and ability to personalize learning paths.
Experience working one-on-one and adapting to individual learning styles.
