A Navcom Engineer in Dubai plays a crucial role in the maritime industry by supporting shipping companies, offshore operators, and marine service providers to keep vessel systems operational, reliable, and compliant.
In this role, the Navcom Engineer is responsible for maintaining navigation and communication systems such as radar, ECDIS, gyro, autopilot, and GMDSS equipment. The engineer ensures that all marine electronic systems function correctly and meet international regulations.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on marine navigation and communication systems.
Ensure all electronic systems operate according to manufacturer standards.
Diagnose faults in radar, gyro, ECDIS, and autopilot systems.
Repair or replace defective components and conduct system testing.
Work with major brands such as FURUNO, JRC, and other marine electronics equipment.
Calibrate and configure navigation instruments.
Ensure compliance with GMDSS, IMO, SOLAS, and maritime safety regulations.
Maintain technical documentation and safety reports.
Provide onboard technical assistance to ship crew.
Train operators on basic system operations.
Minimum 5 years experience in Navcom systems.
Strong knowledge of marine navigation and communication equipment.
Experience with radar systems, ECDIS, gyro, and autopilot.
Knowledge of GMDSS regulations.
GOC (General Operator’s Certificate) is an advantage.
Manufacturer training certifications preferred.
