About the job PROCESS ENGINEER - OFFSHORE

The Process Engineer will execute FEED and Detailed Design activities for offshore oil and gas projects within an EPC contractor environment. The role focuses on delivering complete and high-quality process engineering deliverables, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting client and vendor interactions during the engineering phase of EPC projects.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Execute process engineering activities for offshore oil and gas projects during FEED and Detailed Design phases in line with EPC project schedules and quality requirements
  • Develop and finalize process design solutions suitable for EPC execution and procurement
  • Prepare, review, and issue key process deliverables, including: Process Design Basis and Design Philosophies, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process calculations and simulations, Equipment and package data sheets, Utility and offsite summaries
  • Operating, control, start-up, shutdown, and emergency philosophies (design level)
  • Participate in and close out process safety studies, including: HAZID, HAZOP, SIL / LOPA (as applicable)
  • Ensure safety study recommendations are incorporated into process design deliverables
  • Support EPC internal design reviews and client design approvals
  • Interface with internal EPC disciplines including Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical, Layout, Safety, and Commissioning
  • Provide process inputs for: Equipment sizing and specifications, Plot plan and layout development, Line sizing and control philosophies
  • Support technical alignment with procurement and construction-driven design requirements
  • Prepare process inputs for RFQs and technical bid evaluations
  • Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with process design intent
  • Participate in meetings with clients, vendors, and third parties during FEED and DD
  • Ensure all process engineering activities comply with:
  • Contractual and client specifications
  • International codes and standards (API, ISO, ASME, IEC, etc.)
  • EPC contractor procedures and quality systems
  • Support resolution of technical queries, deviations, and clarifications during the engineering phase

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent Experience
  • Minimum 6–10 years of experience in process engineering within the oil & gas industry
  • Demonstrated experience delivering FEED and Detailed Design for offshore projects within an EPC contractor organization
  • Experience working on lump-sum EPC projects is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of offshore process systems, including Oil, gas, and water separation, Gas compression and treatment, Produced water treatment, Utilities and support systems
  • Proficiency in process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS)
  • Good understanding of EPC workflows, deliverable control, and inter-discipline coordination
