The QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical is responsible for ensuring that all mechanical construction, installation, fabrication, and commissioning activities comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and client quality requirements. The role involves inspection, documentation, coordination with project teams, and implementation of quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System in line with ISO and client requirements
Review and approve mechanical drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and procedures
Conduct inspections for mechanical works including piping, structural steel, tanks, pressure vessels, rotating and static equipment
Monitor fabrication, installation, welding, and testing activities to ensure compliance with approved standards
Coordinate and witness NDT activities (RT, UT, PT, MT) and review test results
Ensure welding activities comply with approved WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications
Prepare and maintain inspection reports, NCRs, punch lists, and quality records
Liaise with clients, consultants, third-party inspectors, and subcontractors on quality matters
Participate in internal audits, quality meetings, and site inspections
Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities from a QA/QC perspective
Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and closed effectively
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant QA/QC experience in mechanical works
Prior experience in UAE / Middle East projects preferred
Certification in CSWIP / AWS / ASNT Level II (RT, UT, MT, PT) is an advantage
Strong knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, API, ASTM, ISO)
Experience in piping systems, welding inspection, pressure testing, and mechanical installations
Proficiency in reviewing ITPs, method statements, drawings, and quality documentation
Familiarity with project quality documentation and handover dossiers
Good understanding of HSE and QA/QC compliance requirements
Strong coordination, reporting, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection activities
