Job Description

Purpose:


The QC Inspector (Electrical & Instrumentation) is responsible for ensuring that all E&I installation, testing, and commissioning activities are executed in compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable international codes, standards, Project Quality Plan and Inspection Test Plan. The role supports compliance with client requirements and contributes to achieving project quality objectives.


Responsibilities:


  • Carry out inspections and surveillance of Electrical and Instrumentation works in accordance with approved Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Inspect installation of cable trays, conduits, cables (LV/MV/Control/FO), lighting, earthing, panels, junction boxes, instruments, impulse tubing, and field devices.
  • Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and vendor data.
  • Ensure installation activities meet applicable standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, BS, and project specifications.
  • Verify proper identification, tagging and labeling of cables, equipment, and instruments.
  • Witness and verify continuity, insulation resistance (IR), megger, HV/LV cable testing, loop checking, and functional testing.
  • Witness FAT, SAT, calibration, and pre-commissioning activities as applicable.
  • Ensure use of approved and calibrated test equipment.
  • Verify test results, certificates, and records for compliance
  • Review and raise Request for Inspection Requests (RFI / IRs) and ensure timely closure.
  • Coordinate with construction teams, subcontractors, QA/QC Engineers, and client representatives during inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with Project Quality Plan, ISO 9001 requirements, and client specifications
  • Participate in internal and external audits, site quality meetings and Quality toolbox talks.
  • Proactively identify quality issues and support preventive actions.
  • Identify, raise and follow up Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and update on regular basis Quality Logs (RFI/ IR, MIR and Calibration log)
  • Support preparation of as-built drawings, test dossiers and handover documentation

Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent.
  • Internal Auditor – ISO-9001:2015 Certification.
  • Minimum 3–7 years of experience as a QC Inspector – E&I in Oil & Gas, EPC, or industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, IEEE, NFPA, API, and BS.
