Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on large-tonnage liquid chillers
  • Carry out major and minor services, inspections, and performance assessments
  • Execute compressor teardown, inspection, repair, and reassembly (centrifugal, screw, and others)
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system faults
  • Select, identify, and replace OEM and equivalent spare parts accurately
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, P&IDs, control logic, and OEM technical documentation
  • Support chiller overhauls, retrofits, and commissioning activities
  • Conduct vibration checks, oil analysis, and performance testing where required
  • Respond to breakdowns and emergency callouts professionally and efficiently
  • Prepare clear service reports and recommendations for clients and management
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and workmanship at all times
  • Mentor junior technicians where required
     

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 7–10 years hands-on experience with large-tonnage chillers
  • Strong experience across multiple OEMs (e.g. centrifugal and screw platforms)
  • Proven ability to independently troubleshoot complex chiller faults
  • Demonstrated experience with compressor teardown and rebuild
  • Solid understanding of refrigeration cycles, controls, and electromechanical systems
  • Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions on site
  • Experience working in UAE or GCC preferred
  • Valid UAE driving licence (or ability to obtain one)
  • Technical diploma or equivalent qualification in HVAC/R or Mechanical Engineering

 

Preferred Skills (Advantageous)

  • District cooling plant experience
  • Experience with VFDs, PLC-based controls, and BMS interfaces
  • Exposure to energy optimisation and performance testing
  • OEM factory training certificates
  • Knowledge of NDT, oil analysis, or vibration monitoring
