JOB DESCRIPTION
Key responsibilities of the Specialist include:
Collecting and analyzing all relevant information (as defined by the Manager) jointly with a Sr Specialist needed for comprehensive perspective on the financial and strategic value of Relevant Assets to ADNOC and with a perspective on (where applicable) risks to the related share price, based on close interaction with the relevant management teams of the Relevant Assets. Updating jointly with a Sr Specialist, based on the guidance of the Manager, on a regular basis all relevant documents, in particular, but not limited to Asset Playbook, Asset Improvement Plan and comprehensive reporting on the Relevant Assets. Work hand in hand with
- Sr Specialist level employees at the Relevant Assets,
- GBF team members, in particular the sr specialist of individual Relevant Assets (“Asset Managers”) and sr specialists within the Gas Projects team (“Project Managers”) and the Gas & Energy Master Plan team (“GEMP Managers”),
- Sr Specialist level employees at ADNOC Headquarter, in particularly BSFs (focus on Finance & Investment, Legal & Compliance, Performance).
Supporting the Sr Specialists in reviewing and/or drafting key documents for review by the Manager and endorsement/approval by the VP/SVP (in particular related to, but not limited to the following: Asset Weekly documents, Business Plans, all documents for ExCom and Board of Directors of the Relevant Assets as well as to ADNOC IPC and IC). Based on the Manager’s guidance and jointly with a Sr Specialist, contribute to key deliverables of the BP Team so that the BP Team provides to the VP: + Accurate assessments of the value of ADNOC’s equity in all Relevant Assets on a quarterly basis.
+ Regular updates on the performance of the Relevant Assets (focus on commercial and operational performance, but also, where applicable, share price performance).
+ Thorough reviews of project business cases for all Relevant Assets (mainly from a commercial/financial perspective, based on operational input from the Asset Managers and technical input from the Gas Projects team) and appropriate support to obtain all necessary internal approvals and corporate case submission, based on a reviewed and agreed IC Plan, ensure integrated business case submission with Upstream / Downstream; support to the Manager and indirectly to the VP in preparing monthly/yearly IC plan.
+ Input and support for analyses of opportunities to generate value for ADNOC and all Relevant Assets, based on guidance from the Manager.
+ Support the relevant Asset Managers in generating proposals to the VP on meaningful strategies to execute, adjust and cancel commercially significant agreements related to all Relevant Assets, and JV partner(s), internal and external stakeholders, where necessary in coordination with the Gas & Energy Master Planning team, when it comes to long-term agreements.
+ Support the relevant Asset Managers in creating options lining out potential effective solutions to commercially significant disputes, litigation, and mediation with all Relevant Assets and partner(s).
+ Support the relevant Asset Managers with regards to the execution of service, supply, offtake, and other agreements with all Relevant Assets / stakeholders, intervening as needed to resolve issues and ensure quality of ADNOC support, where necessary in coordination with the Gas & Energy Master Planning team, when it comes to long-term agreements, especially to actively influence ADNOC Upstream gas supply portfolio optimization to maximize value for DMT and ADNOC Group overall.
+ Support the Manager and indirectly the VP in the periodical analysis of the capital structure of the Relevant Assets to ensure optimization opportunities (e.g., financing, equity offering) and present to DMT leadership, if necessary.
+ Provide a commercial and performance perspective to the Manager and indirectly to the VP to assessments of potential M&A and partnership opportunities related to the Relevant Assets, between i) all Relevant Assets, ii) other ADNOC related entities and iii) external parties, for review by the SVP.
Minimum Qualification:
Engineering degree (bachelor or masters)
Any additional professional certification (in particular any Business/Finance certification) would be a plus (see link to Professional Certifications below).
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
At least 5 years of experience, ideally >2 years of experience within the energy industry

* If no Business/Finance certification in place, the Specialist is ideally committed to starting at least one professional certification in Business/Finance (e.g., a CFA), ideally not more than 1 year after being appointed to this position
