Job Description

Job Summary & Purpose:

The Inventory Team Leader is responsible for overseeing inventory management processes, ensuring accurate stock levels, and maintaining operational efficiency. They lead the team in conducting physical inventory counts, clearing inventory-related transactions, addressing ageing stock, and ensuring quality and audit compliance. By implementing automation and fostering team development, the leader supports the organization's goals of accuracy, cost efficiency, and streamlined operations.

Key Performance Areas (KPAs) & Principal Accountabilities

1 Plan and execute monthly and annual physical inventory counts.

2 Ensure accurate reconciliation of inventory records with physical counts.

3 Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain data integrity.

4 Monitor and process inventory transactions, such as receipts, transfers, and adjustments, without delays.

5 Collaborate with other departments to resolve pending issues affecting inventory transactions.

6 Identify ageing stock and work with relevant teams to create liquidation plans.

7 Coordinate promotions, markdowns, or other clearance activities to reduce ageing inventory levels.

8 Implement robust processes to ensure inventory data is accurate and up-to-date in the ERP system.

9 Perform regular audits and checks to identify and address errors in inventory records.

10 Ensure all inventory processes adhere to organizational quality standards and audit requirements.

11 Prepare for internal and external audits by maintaining proper documentation and compliance records.

12 Lead and manage the inventory team effectively, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined.

13 Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.

14 Foster a collaborative and goal-oriented team culture.

15 Drive the adoption of automation tools and systems to improve inventory management efficiency.

16 Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical tools for better inventory tracking and decision-making.

17 Identify process improvement opportunities to streamline inventory workflows.


RequirementsExperience (Yrs& Field):  2-3 Yrs of experience in Inventory Management in Retail / Warehouse Operations

Educational Qualification : Preferably Graduate

Professional Certifications Retail Management
