Job description

The Opportunity:

You'll be more than a designer—you'll shape how we build with generative AI for a $1B+ e-commerce brand. Your mandate is to embed AI-first methodology into daily design execution, leveraging cutting-edge GenAI tools to create exceptional user experiences. The goal: accelerate creative output and drive customer conversion.

What You'll Own:

  • Design & Deliver Core Experiences: Produce end-to-end design artifacts, including wireframes, high-fidelity compositions, and interactive prototypes for key e-commerce pages and marketing landing pages.

  • Execute AI-Powered Workflows: Master and utilize our core GenAI toolkit—including Figma AI, Nano, Banana Vertex AI, and other cutting-edge tools—to rapidly create and iterate on page layouts, image concepts, and copy variants.

  • Champion AI Tool Innovation: Proactively research, test, and recommend emerging GenAI tools that can enhance the design team's workflow, speed, and creative quality to keep our practice at the industry's cutting edge.

  • Craft Next-Generation UIs: Design intuitive and effective user interfaces for AI-powered features, including semantic search results, conversational shopping assistants, and personalized recommendation modules.

  • Contribute to the Design System: Help maintain and evolve our design system, ensuring components and tokens are robust, responsive, and compatible with AI-generated variants while upholding brand consistency.

  • Support Conversion Optimization: Collaborate with Growth and Engineering teams to execute A/B tests and other experiments, translating data-driven insights into tangible design improvements.

  • Ensure Quality & Accessibility: Produce high-quality, developer-ready design specifications using Figma's Dev Mode and apply AI-assisted tools to help ensure all designs meet WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.

What You Bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience in web design: Preferably from an e-commerce background.

  • A strong portfolio showcasing shipped product work: With a clear connection to business metrics (e.g., conversion lift, improved engagement) on detail pages, listing pages, or checkout flows.

  • Expert Figma proficiency: Including components, variables, and Dev Mode.

  • Hands-on experience with modern GenAI design tools: (e.g., Figma AI, Nano Banana, Vertex AI, Midjourney etc.) in a professional workflow, with a portfolio demonstrating your ability to guide them to brand-aligned outcomes.

  • A demonstrable passion for the AI space: With a proven ability to quickly learn, evaluate, and integrate new technologies and tools into your design process.

  • Familiarity with emerging UX patterns for AI: Such as conversational search, assistant UIs, and recommendation modules.

  • Excellent communication skills: With an ability to articulate design rationale and present research on new tools clearly.

Good-to-Have Skills

  • Experience designing chat or guided-selling flows.

  • Comfort collaborating on experiments (A/B testing, multivariate) and understanding their purpose.

  • Working knowledge of WCAG 2.2 and foundational SEO principles for e-commerce.

Who You'll Work With:

You'll be part of the design team shaping the future of e-commerce experiences, collaborating with:

  • AI-First UI/UX Design Manager — Direct reporting line

  • Marketing — Align on campaigns and brand initiatives

  • CRO — Partner on A/B tests and conversion experiments

  • Content Team — Collaborate on copy and creative assets

  • Developers — Ship designs with Dev Mode handoffs

  • QA — Ensure design quality and consistency in production

Our team includes alumni from Apple, Deutsche Bank, Deloitte to name a few.

Your Trajectory Here:

This isn't a static role. Based on your skills and interests, you can grow into:

  • Senior UI/UX Designer — Deepen your craft and lead complex projects

  • Design Lead — Guide design direction and mentor other designers

  • Design Project Manager — Own project execution and cross-functional delivery

What takes 4-5 years elsewhere happens in 1-2 here.
