Workshop Supervisor

Plans, directs, and coordinates the operation of vehicle maintenance and repair

programs for palace owned vehicles.

Receives and processes vehicle accident and damage reports.

Prepares cost analysis and periodic management and operational reports.

Planning, organizing, and directing the work of the section to meet objectives with the most efficient use of personnel, facilities and equipment.

Managing the special equipment, trucks and all vehicles.

Submitting regular reports including, road calls, break downs, accidents and performance.

Administering activities connected with the purchase of workshop tools, automotive repair supplies, repair parts and accessories.

Directing a preventive maintenance program to minimize cost and maximize use of

equipment.

Directing a quantity and quality control program to maintain satisfactory levels of work place.

Recommending reductions or additions to personnel, facilities and equipment and changes in level of service.

Administering a testing and inspection program to determine quality, suitability, and compliance with the specifications for vehicles, parts, accessories and materials.

Preparing a preliminary automotive maintenance section budget request.

Supervising complicated mechanical maintenance and repair work on auto mobiles,

trucks and other motorized equipment used in the field of transportation, hauling and maintenance purposes.

Supervising Vehicle Maintenance and repair – Typical tasks include: Overhaul engines (rebuilds); overhauls transmissions; repair air conditioning units, overhaul differentials, overhauls brakes; repair and replaces electrical; systems, (e.g., alternators starters, batteries, regulators).

Supervising Garage/workshop coordination. Typical tasks include; keeps inventory of parts supplies; requisitions parts and supplies needed; coordinates the flow of vehicles awaiting maintenance or repairs; provides direct guidance to lower level auto mechanics that may assist with major repair work

Performing any other job related duties as assigned from time to time.
