Job Purpose

Responsible for leading the business unit Quality Control function to ensure compliance with customer, legal, FPIG's, and international quality standards. Accountable for developing and implementing QC strategies rolled out by the Vice President - Quality, leading teams, managing audits, ensuring product compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction within the business unit.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance of Product to Quality Standards      

                Ensures that all manufacturing procedures and applicable standards are always adhered to and that only approved Raw Materials are used to ensure acceptable product quality.

                Ensures that all manufacturing procedures, including testing & calibration and applicable standards, are always adhered to during the manufacturing process to ensure high quality of product.

                Carries out product failure investigation and root cause analysis to avoid recurrence.

 Direction of Subordinates   

                Ensure the resource requirements of the QC Department are met for the smooth performance of the department.

                Organizes and supervises the activities and work of a team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of QC activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner.

                Ensures that all QC Engineers, QC Supervisors, Lab Technicians and QC Inspectors are trained and motivated to perform their roles to the levels of excellence set to realize quality products.

                Ensures that training programs are generated for QC staff and ensures that individual assessments are regularly undertaken and documented to ensure compliance with requirements and to provide a platform for continuous improvement of the QMS.

 Release of finished products for delivery 

                Ensures that the process quality control activities comply with internal and client specification requirements to comply with the required control and performance standards.

                Ensure that manufactured or trading goods items are inspected/tested and released to ensure compliance with quality standards before delivery.

Non-conforming product control and its communication          

                Ensure that nonconforming manufactured items are properly highlighted to the responsible departments in a way that corrective action is immediately initiated at all levels to ensure compliance and to minimize the loss.

                Ensure that nonconforming purchased materials and products are properly highlighted and communicated to the purchase department to ensure proper communication with the supplier is initiated to ensure that no loss occurs to the company.

 Quality Assurance Procedure updates, QC documentation and traceability

                Checks and approves the Quality Assurance Procedures related to the Quality Control department, specifically prepared for the business unit, with a focus on continual improvement, compliance with international standards/codes and local legislative requirements as applicable.

                Ensures that all the Quality Control Procedures are up to date and implemented.

                Maintains full traceability records of all raw materials and finished goods to ensure compliance with the company's quality standards and requirements and ensures that these records are easily retrievable.

                Reviews and analyses the monthly reports such as Fiberstrong Pipe and RM databases, GRE Pipe Dashboard report, and QC Monthly report, and submits them to the Group Quality team.

 Project Specific Documentations  

                Checks and approves all projects related to Quality Control Procedures, ITPs, and Material Pre-Qualification Test Plans.

                Ensure that the project specific Manufacturing Record Books are compiled, reviewed and submitted to the project department on time.

 Plant/Project Product Qualifications         

                Ensure that all the necessary Plant/Project related product qualification tests are conducted and reported in line with the requirements.

                Support the QC Engineer to perform the product qualification tests.

 Internal and External Audits           

                Participates in the internal and external audits in relation to QC department activities.

                Ensure that the non-conformity reports are closed out with appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Safety, Quality & Environment

                Ensure that all relevant safety, quality and environmental procedures, instructions and controls are adhered to so that the safety of employees, quality of products/services and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.
